The flange length, that's the amount of this portion here that you would tap into the hub, that's going to be right at 0.31", and then the overall height from the very bottom to the top of the dome shape to it, that's going to be right at 1.44". more

Today we're going to take a look at the stainless steel Bearing Buddy bearing protectors for the 2.441 threaded hub-bores and this is for a quantity of 2 of them. Now the Bearing Buddy design is a very easy way to protect your bearings, by keeping the water out, and ensuring that enough grease is in your hub. These are great for marine applications because the stainless steel construction on them will help provide the best in corrosion resistance. When you install these, they just replace the grease cap that is already in your axle hub, and since these are threaded you would just unscrew the grease cap that's there and thread these into the place of them. This will prevent wheel bearing failure because it will keep water and dirt out of hubs and bearings, it allows your boat trailer wheels to be completely submerged and it will eliminate bearing repacking. If you notice the zerk fitting, the grease zerk fitting, right here, that will give you an easy access to putting grease in here. Makes adding your grease to the bearings very quick and simple. Just put your grease gun on there and you can pump the grease in there. Now when you're pumping the grease in there, it will maintain a slight controlled pressure, about 3 psi on the spring loaded piston, right here. That will help prevent water from entering the hub. Then if you want to test if it's filled or not, you just press on the edge of the piston, give you a quick, reliable level check and then, if you can rock the piston, the hub is properly filled. Now it will prevent overfilling, and prevent any rear seal damage to your hub, because it uses an automatic pressure relief feature, so as you're pumping grease in here, if it overfills, the grease will seep around the piston edges, and into the barrel when it's full. Now, this is a stainless steel construction, has stainless steel internal parts, and that will give you a longer lasting fit, much better than the plastic or aluminum products like this. It does include these rubber covers that go on there to help keep the grease from getting onto your wheels and tires. These do install very easy, like we mentioned, these just take the place of the grease cap that is already on the hub. These are made in the U.S.A, the specs again on this, it's designed to fit the 2.441 hub bore, and that would be that measurement right here. more
